Designing your personal brand focuses on crafting something compelling and desirable. It takes crafting a Personal Brand Statement and then learning how to communicate it effectively so that it makes an impact. You do this through crafting a Personal Brand Pyramid.
The elements in the Personal Brand Pyramid are based on the branding principles that have created some of the most powerful and iconic brands in the world – from Harley Davidson to Apple Computers to Pampers to Old Spice.
4 Elements of the Personal Branding Pyramid:
- Mission: Crafting a mission-based statement that embodies what you do and why you do it.
- Brand Character: What is the style, look, feel, values, personality, and tone of your brand?
- Building Blocks: This is the foundation of your personal brand and focuses on the elements to highlight to make yourself memorable, authentic, distinctive, and educated.
- Design Elements: The visuals you use to bring your brand to life.
Action item:
Take a moment and think about how each of these elements relates to your brand. If you have not defined them, then you will need to start building out your pyramid, brick by brick.
