A Guide to Crafting a Specific Professional Solution

One step in crafting your Professional Statement is to have a defined Professional Solution. Your professional solution is the solution that you provide. Here is a guide to help you narrow in on defining your professional solution.

Think Specific

What does someone get when they work with you? This should be specific and hone in on a part of what makes you stand out vs. others in your field. Your solution should focus on what someone gets from working with you as specifically as possible. This is where you can really set yourself apart with a more compelling solution. Sample solutions would be:

• I help people sell their home quickly.
• I help people understand digital marketing.
• I help people find ways to grow their business.
  
  

Set Yourself Apart

Even within one industry, there can be countless solutions depending on your point of difference. For example, Rachael Ray and Martha Stewart will both give me recipes (professional description), but the solution is very different. Rachael Ray gives me delicious and practical solutions for my family. Martha Stewart gives me impressive meals for entertaining friends.

Another example, consider a real estate agent.

Their solution could be:

• I sell homes quickly.
• I make selling your house fun.
• I get you the most $$$ for your home.
• Selling your home has never been so easy.

This list could go on and on. The idea is that even when the result is the same (a sold house) the solution (the way you get to the sold house) could be different. This is what typically sets you apart from others in your industry.
