Social Media Speaker: Connecting Search and Social at PubCon 2011

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to present at PubCon, a leading conference on Search Engine Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Affiliate marketing.

In this presentation I covered how social media sites can be used to help dominate search engine rankings.  As a social media speaker I really enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my best tips at PubCon every year.

As we know, ranking well in search engine results (like Google) is key to a strong internet marketing strategy.  Search engines, like Google look at a number of factors to determine how well a site should rank in search engines.  I’m not going to go in to the factors here, but social media sites, like Facebook, LinkedIn, Slideshare and Twitter typically rank very well in search engines.

The key to successfully dominating search engine results pages is to use social media sites to syndicate content across the web.  Since these sites rank well in search engines they can help YOU dominate more of the first page of search engine results, thereby pushing your competitors off the first page.  If nothing else, this should provide you with some new ideas of how and where you can publish content on the web to generate more leads and sales for your business.
